Mr. Skillen, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2006. He also heads a consulting company providing investment, technology and advisory services to small to medium sized technology companies.
Mr. Skillen founded The Crowntek Business Centers, a significant Canadian computer distributor in the early eighties. Mr. Skillen was CEO of Telepanel Systems Inc., a TSX and NASDAQ listed company until August 2000. He has capital market experience in both Toronto and New York and has raised substantial funding for public companies that he has managed.
Mr. Skillen is Chairman of Metasoft Systems Inc., a Vancouver based company, which provides online searchable databases to non-profit organizations and charitable foundations in North America. Mr. Skillen is also a director and advisor in a number of private companies including Hotspex, Radiate Research and ES3. He is also a director of Park Avenue Investments a TSX listed company.
Michael M. Liik - Executive Chairman of the Board
Mr. Liik joined Cymat in 1999 as Chairman and CEO. He has a successful record of leading both early stage and high growth Canadian public companies with a unique background that combines considerable operational leadership experience with extensive merchant banking skills.
Mr. Liik has a MBA (1984) and a Bachelor in Applied Science, Civil Engineering (1982) both from University of Toronto. He is also the President and Owner of Liikfam Holdings Inc., an Investment/Venture Capital Company.
Philip Neukom - Executive Vice President, Operations
Mr. Neukom joined Cymat in the summer to 2006, prior to joining Cymat, Philip was a Vice President at First Ontario Fund. He joined the fund in the spring of 2002 as an investment manager and trouble-shooter for underperforming portfolio companies.
Prior to joining the investment team at First Ontario Fund, he was the founder and managing director of a consulting firm that advised organizations how to improve profitability through operations. Philip has used his expertise in strategic planning and operational turnarounds in many countries around the world including the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and Indonesia. Philip has a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an M.B.A. from Queen's University, and is a Certified Management Consultant.
Trevor Sandler - Vice President, Finance
Mr. Sandler, formally from South Africa, is a Chartered Accountant and earned his designation in 1996. He is a member of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants and has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
He has spent the last six years in various senior finance positions with ADESA Canada, Canada's largest automotive auction company where he was actively involved in strategic development and financial management of the company. Prior to ADESA, Trevor worked for one of South Africa's largest security services companies in where he helped take the company public and grow the company through a series of mergers and acquisitions.
Dr. Wayne Maddever - Vice President of Technology
Dr. Wayne Maddever holds B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc, and Ph.D degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Toronto. Beginning his career with the Linde Division of Union Carbide in the R&D Department he specialized in the development and commercialization of molten metal technologies and was awarded several patents. Since then he has held senior executive roles in technically based companies in a number of industries, in many cases with early stage technology challenges.
As President of Resource Plastics, Canada's largest plastics recycler, he was successful in increasing production rates by 30% while significantly reducing costs. While General Manager of Sanden Machine, a major supplier of web offset printing presses he reduced build and delivery time by 25% and reduced manufacturing defects.
Most recently he was President and CEO of Adsero Corp., a publicly traded imaging company. He sits on the Board of several technology-based publicly traded companies and has co-authored a book on degradable plastics.
